Step 1: install the activation system's scripts and files on the server

Copy the files to your server

  1. In the folder where you unpacked the activation kit, you will find a subfolder named "heakdist".
  2. This folder contains a subfolder named "admin" which contains the administration script files. We strongly recommend you to rename this folder to something you will keep secret or you may also password protect this folder (Apache Password Protected Directories for instance) later. Write down the new name as you will need it later.
  3. Upload the entire contents of the "heakdist" folder to your server. For instance, with the FTP client named Filezilla:

  1. Navigate to the "session" subfolder (heakdist/admin/session): you need to set the permissions of "session" to "777" so that the web server can write to the session directory.
    chmod -R 777 /path/to/heakdist/admin/session
