Some links to Word documents may not open correctly – in fact the file association correctly launches Word but the document appears blank.
- The hyperlinks to Microsoft Word (.doc) documents are called via the _heopenit built in macro
- The issue only appears to exist on machines running Office 2000 (the same links open fine in Office 2007 and Office 2003)
Solution: the problem may occur if your .doc file is not a valid Word file. For instance, some plain text files are saved with the .DOC extension. To solve it, just create a real DOC file.
